Children’s Bible Ministries is powered by volunteers who have a heart and desire to use their gifts for God. Volunteers can help out any time during the year, especially in the summer. This work can come in the forms of camp volunteer work, driving interns, teaching after-school character clubs, hosting summer clubs, web-mastery, office work, serving as a missionary in Maryland, and much more. Below you can find out more about opportunities in the Summer and in the rest of the year.

Camp Volunteer

County Fairs

Join us at the fair!

CBM has a small children’s chapel at the Howard and Carroll county fairs where we evangelize to the crowds as they pass by. We draw children and families to our chapel with face-paining, games, costumes, clowns, or animal balloons. No one comes to the chapel without hearing at least part of the good news. In edition to evangelists and tracts, CBM also features a small Bible skit that presents the entire gospel in an entertaining way. This ministry is mostly managed by full-time missionaries and interns, but a small handful of adult chaperons, evangelists, and helpers is always a plus.

No application necessary, just contact our Area Director .

Have skills in construction or painting? Volunteer to maintain our chapel so it is presentable and inviting.

Host a Bible Club

This is one of the easiest, biggest things you can do

CBM trains missionaries to do real missions work, and the missions field is your backyard. Host a five-day Bible club for one hour each day to make a lasting impact on kids around you. You are responsible for the scheduling of the club, and we are responsible for bringing solid teaching, fun, and more. Clubs can be held for any amount or age of children.

To find out more about our Bible Clubs, visit our Summer Bible Club page.

Summer Driving Ministry

Volunteer your time as a driver (ages 18+)
During the Summer, many of our missionaries are between the ages of 14 and 17, few of whom have a car or license. Impact the lives of children in your county by getting our trained interns where they need to go. Drivers must be 18 or older, have a consistently good driving record, and have been driving for at least three years. Volunteer to drive every day for one, two, or even three weeks. Fuel reimbursement is available.
No application necessary, just contact our state office.

Available to drive some other time? Contact us and see if our full-time missionaries or character building club teachers need a ride!

Year-Round Volunteer Work

Character Building Club Teacher

Teach children near you Christian Morals, lead them to Christ, and mentor the saved children in after-school programs.

Attend training seminars, then be sent into the world ready to teach. Any adult or even youth can apply to teach a club. Some volunteers serve for a few months, others have been teaching clubs for decades.

If you feel this is something God is calling you to do:

Find out what clubs are near you and Contact your county missionary. No missionary for your county? No problem! Contact our office instead.

If you’re feeling really ambitious, then you can even try to start a Character Club in your local school! We’ll give you all the tools.

Help us in the Office

For people with business, organization, management, accounting, or other skills.

In addition to teaching and preaching, there is a business side to ministry as well. If you have the time or ability, we would love for you to join our volunteer-run office staff. The office files taxes, manages missionary paychecks, manages clubs, communicates with sponsors, runs our mailbox club program, and other related items.

If you feel called to this ministry, contact the CBM of Maryland office and volunteer to help out.

Didn’t see something for you?

We are open to ideas.

If you see any part of our ministry where you can plug in officially or unofficially, have a ministry you’d like us to help out with, or are looking at starting something new don’t hesitate to throw us an idea! One engineering student saw a need to add a storage closet in our children’s chapel trailer, so he used an expensive 3D-modeling program used by NASA to draw virtual blueprints, then proceeded to construct the closet himself. If a random math student with a program that designs satellites can contribute to CBM, we know you can get involved somehow.

It never hurts to ask.

Join Our Full-Time Missionary Staff

Are you ready to be a full-time missionary?

One common misconception in Christian circles is that missionaries only serve overseas in Africa or China. In reality, American children need spiritual help too. We currently only have missionaries in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Carroll county. CBM of Maryland’s goal is to reach as many children as possible, which means we need champions for Christ in Baltimore, Annapolis, and all 23 counties.

If you have a Bible degree, a passion to help children and adults, and/or are looking for a ministry to plug in full-time, download our missionary application.
