SUMMER BIBLE CLUBS
It was a hot day in July. The neighborhood kids seemed to fight every time they got together. “What these kids need is Jesus,” I muttered.
I gathered my seven year old son’s Sunday school materials and invited the children to come for a “Bible time.” Seven children came. I vividly remember that first Bible club held in my home. Five children prayed to receive the Lord Jesus during the week; one of them, my own son.
These children are all adults now. I have heard from several and they are still living for the Lord.
You don’t need to scrounge up teaching materials or prepare a lesson. CBM will send you a team of trained Summer Missionaries who will teach an hour a day for five days.
Wonderful Bible lessons, exciting missionary stories and fun songs and games make Summer Bible Club an event that will change lives.
What do you need to do? Call me and set a week and time slot that suits you. Invite the children and have a simple snack each day. You pray and we do the rest.

Camp Hidden Valley, What a great time!
Look at the fun time pictures!
What fun we had at Hidden Vally with the huge swimming pool and bath houses! Wow it had an incredible camp fire area!
Camp Hidden Valley was the location for CBM's summer camp in 2010. It is located on 200 acres of beautiful wooded land in Harford County .
Best of all, the camp was available for us to have camp for an entire week. The camp is large enough that we were able to have one week of camp for all of the boys and girls at the same time.

Volunteer Of the Month
Connie Shaffer teaches three Character Building Clubs a week in Carroll Co., is on the teaching schedule for Children’s Worship at Faith Bible Church, helps in an AWANA and teaches weekend retreats for Chinese Churches.
If that isn’t enough, Connie homeschooled her two daughters, Beth and Darli, during their elementary and high school years and still homeschools her son, Davy.
Thank you, Connie, for your labor of love for the Lord Jesus Christ and for the children!
Summer Neighborhood Outreach
CBM can help you reach your neighbors for Christ!
You begin by reserving a team of trained summer missionaries for one hour a day for five days during July or August.
Involve your family in praying by name for neighborhood children to attend, explaining the club to parents and passing out invitations to the children. Let your family help plan and prepare simple refreshments for the children who attend.
Please call Carolyn King, Denise Morgan or Carol Golden to reserve your team of teachers.
Prayer Warriors Needed!
Please hold us up in prayer. Becky Rice is our new Prayer Captain. E-mail her at ricera58@yahoo.com to receive monthly and urgent prayer requests.

Camp Changes Lives!
I came to camp because my friend said we would have fun. I had a lot of fun in the pool and in sports and I made two new friends. But the best friend I made was Jesus. When He took away my sins I changed from looking at the fun to listening to the chapel lessons. A Camper, Age 11
The Counselors acted just like the teacher said a Christian is supposed to act. When I got mad because our team didn't win, my counselor didn't yell at me. He said he understood I was sad. A Camper, Age 12

Do you prefer E-Mail?
If “You’ve Got Mail!” is better for you than a paper copy, we can send our newsletter and prayer requests by e-mail.
We want to make it easy for you to keep up with what God is doing among the children in Maryland. We want to communicate in the way that helps you the most.
Just e-mail cbmofmd@aol.com and request “e-mail newsletter.” You will no longer receive the newsletter via “snail mail” but if you wish, you can make a copy on your own printer.

Another way to give!
General Fund Needs Help

Electronic Transfer Authorization form
For your convenience, CBM of MD has instituted a easy method for you to provide automatic deductions from your checking or debit accounts. Please download this form above and mail this form to the office. Please let us know if this will be a help to you complete this form.
Of course, you may continue giving as you have in the past, whether by PayPal, check, money order or cash!
How has the recent economic crunch effected your finances? Most would answer, “A great deal.”
I am thrilled that our God has allowed CBM to reach 4,221 and 500 adults with His Word this past year. But, as the ministry has grown, expenses have also increased. We print teaching materials, buy postage, copy paper, envelopes and other office supplies. Office rent, BGE, and mileage must be paid. Bibles, tracts and lesson materials must be purchased. These are paid for from the “General Fund.” Some supporters have stopped giving because of their financial situations. I can sure understand. However, there are still donors who are giving sacrificially to the General Fund. One dear retired lady not only gives monthly but recently sent an extra offering. She wrote, “I received a gift that I was not expecting and wanted to share some of it with CBM.” One friend said, “I was not aware that there was a need for the General Fund. I will begin giving next month.” A teen passed on some money that had been given to him. The board members have also increased their giving. We have always tried to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us but spending has been cut to the bone. These gifts are helping but since our income is not keeping up with our ministry needs, I am asking you to prayerfully consider helping, too. We, at CBM, are asking God to use those whom He has blessed financially to help cover the $11,000.00 General Fund deficit. Whether you are able to give or not, pray for the General Fund. Thank you and God bless you for partnering with CBM as we reach precious children for the King of Kings, our Lord Jesus Christ.

CBM of Maryland is Looking for a Camp Property! The CBM state board has a goal of owning our own camp property by January 2011. We would locate our state office at that location and hold day camp, overnight camp and teen and adult retreats.
We are praying for a miracle provision of either property or funds. Perhaps you have property to donate that would suit for a camp. Even property unsuitable for a camp could be sold and the funds used toward a camp. Perhaps you have been blessed to attend Christian camp as a child. This is your opportunity to give back now that you are an adult. No gift is too small because “little is much when God is in it.”
So far, designated camp donations total $2,290. 00. Please designate your gift “Property Fund” because gifts designated “Camp Fund” are used for camper scholarships.
If God leads you to give toward our future camp, please mark your gift, “Property Fund.” (Gifts marked “Camp Fund” are used for camp scholarships.) Thanks so much! Let Carolyn know.
